Significant Performance Issues and Extremely Slow Response Times

I've been experiencing persistent and significant performance issues with Claude Code, despite the understanding that its token generation rate (tk/s) is comparable to other leading models like those from ChatGPT. The actual user experience, however, is dramatically different.

Problem:

Claude Code is consistently very slow to provide a full resolution. I frequently find myself waiting upwards of 5 minutes for a complete response, and in some instances, it simply continues to load indefinitely without producing any output. This severely impacts productivity and the overall utility of the service.

To illustrate the severity, I paid for the service yesterday and found that tasks that typically take me 30 minutes to complete using Cursor now require approximately 8 hours with Claude Code. This represents an unacceptable decline in efficiency.

Expected Behavior:

Given the stated capabilities and, more importantly, the premium cost of the service (I paid U$ 200 for Claude Code), I expect a much more responsive and reliable experience. Responses should be generated within a reasonable timeframe, and the service should not get stuck in a loading state. I also expect the productivity offered by Claude Code to be competitive with or surpass other similar tools.

Actual Behavior:

• Excessively long loading times for code generation/completion.
• Frequent waits of 5 minutes or more for a full resolution.
• The application sometimes gets stuck in a "loading" state, yielding no output at all.
• Tasks that take 30 minutes on Cursor are taking approximately 8 hours on Claude Code.

This performance discrepancy is concerning, especially for a paid service. It suggests there might be an underlying issue affecting the responsiveness and reliability of Claude Code.

Question to the Community / Self-Diagnosis:

I am wondering if the problem is with my local network or my local machine's performance, rather than an issue with Claude Code itself.

• Is anyone else experiencing similar severe performance degradation and productivity loss with Claude Code?
• Are there any diagnostic steps I can take to rule out my network (e.g., checking internet speed, latency) or local machine (e.g., CPU/RAM usage) as potential causes?
