Remote Control not working on Max plan — "not enabled for your account" error

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Feb 27, 2026 by mrtellington Closed Mar 2, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Running claude remote-control on a Max plan subscription returns:

> Error: Remote Control is not enabled for your account. Contact your administrator.

Details:

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.61
  • Auth method: claude.ai OAuth (not API key)
  • Plan: Max
  • OS: macOS (Darwin 25.3.0)
  • Documentation states Remote Control is available on Max plans as a research preview

Also attempted claude remote-control --verbose — same error, no additional detail.
Feedback submission via /feedback in-session also fails with "Could not submit feedback. Please try again later."

What Should Happen?

claude remote-control should start a Remote Control session, display a session URL and QR code, and allow connecting from claude.ai or the Claude mobile app — as
documented for Max plan subscribers.
