Remote Control not enabled for Max plan user (v2.1.59)

Claude Code version: v2.1.59
Plan: Claude Max
OS: macOS (Darwin 25.2.0)

Issue

Remote Control feature is not working despite being on a Max plan and properly authenticated via /login.

Steps to reproduce

1. Run claude remote-control from terminal
2. Get error: "Remote Control is not enabled for your account. Contact your administrator."

1. Open a Claude Code session and run /remote-control
2. Get error: "Unknown skill: remote-control"

Expected behavior

Remote Control should work for Max plan users as documented at https://code.claude.com/docs/en/remote-control

Environment

• Logged in via /login (not API key)
• Account confirmed as Claude Max (shown in session header: "Opus 4.6 · Claude Max")
• Not part of any Team/Enterprise organization
• Feature was announced Feb 25, 2026 — tried on Feb 26, 2026
