Claude seems to lose all context on a project when upgraded

Environment

  • Platform (select one): Anthropic API
  • Claude CLI version: 1.0.41
  • Operating System: macOS Sequoia 15.5
  • Terminal: Terminal App

Description

Not entirely sure this is a bug but Claude seems to lose all context on a project when a plan upgrade is completed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Do more than a weeks worth of work with claude
  2. Upgrade your sub to get more opus
  3. Claude doesn't seem to know anything about the repo

Expected Behavior

I expected claude to be less clueless

Actual Behavior

Very clueless claude!

Additional Context

I have CLAUDE.md's scattered around my repo with lots of context. Maybe I need to have Claude read them after every upgrade, but I haven't really had to do that or use --continue previously. Probably best practices but flagging for Anthropic's attention.
