URGENT: Terminal rendering completely broken in v2.0.73 - Windows

Environment:

  • Claude Code version: v2.0.73
  • OS: Windows
  • Terminal: Command Prompt (CMD)
  • Model: Sonnet 4.5

Issue:
Terminal rendering broke TODAY. Was working fine before today.

Text is completely unreadable:

  • Characters cut off at line starts
  • Random fragments of text appear
  • Example: "d." followed by broken sentence fragments
  • Cannot read Claude's responses at all
  • Makes CLI completely unusable

This appears to be a regression bug introduced in today's update.

Reproduction:
Ask Claude any question that produces a multi-line response.

Screenshot attached: broken-results.jpg

Impact:
CRITICAL - CLI is completely unusable for daily programming work.

Request:

  1. Fix this ASAP
  2. How can I downgrade to previous working version?

Workaround:
Currently having Claude write all responses to text files since terminal output is unreadable.

What Should Happen?

Request:

  1. Fix this ASAP
  2. How can I downgrade to previous working version?
