Problem Statement

I loved when the context usage was displayed. I REALLY use it a LOT. I'm not sure if Claude Code is being dumbed down in some way, but why in the world would such a wonderful feature be removed?

Claude Code is now like driving a sports car with the gauges replaced with idiot lights. I like my tach in my car, and I like the context usage displayed below my prompt.

So my suggestion is to reenable this AMAZING feature. Please.

Proposed Solution

Add back the context usage display.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

Interactive mode (TUI)

Use Case Example

I like the ability to compact when I want to - not when the idiot guage 0% context remaining - that's so inaccurate it's silly. I generally run my context empty and then compact - why not? However I find it frustrating to start claude on a new task and really have no idea my context short of running /context every time - usually after I've spent 10 min writing the dang prompt.
