[BUG] Desktop 2.37337.1: usage ring popover no longer shows the session's context window usage
What happened
After Claude Desktop updated from 2.31226.1 to 2.37337.1 (macOS 27.0.1, Team plan, Opus 5.5 with the 1M window), clicking the usage ring next to the model picker in a Code tab session shows only the plan limits: "Session limit" (5-hour) and "Weekly". The current session's context window usage is no longer in the popover.
Expected
The popover keeps reporting how full the session's context window is, as it did before the update. #90756 describes that popover: "Clicking the usage ring next to the model picker shows the session's current context window usage."
The number is still computed
The app's own session tooling still reports it for the same session at the same moment: 213,074 of 1,000,000 tokens (21 %), auto-compact at 97 %, with a per-category breakdown. Only the display was dropped.
Why it matters
Plan limits and context fill answer different questions. The limits say how much budget is left. The context fill says what every next message in this session costs, since the whole conversation is re-sent with each request, and it is the signal for when to /compact or start fresh. The CLI shows it continuously through the status line. In Desktop the ring was the one place to read it, and the popover now answers only the first question.
It also undercuts #90756, which asks to put the auto-compact control in this popover because the popover is where the context reading lives.
Suggested fix
Restore the context row in the ring popover: tokens used and window size, percent, and the auto-compact threshold. If the row moved rather than being removed, a pointer from the popover to its new place would do.
