[GitHub integration][GitHub Integration] Private repository inaccessible in Claude Projects despite successful Claude Code access

What were you trying to do?

I am trying to connect an existing private GitHub repository to a Claude Project using:

Project → Context → Add → GitHub

My goal is to synchronize the repository's source files with my Claude Project so that Claude can access the existing codebase and continue development.

The GitHub account is connected successfully.

The official Claude GitHub App is installed and has explicit access to the selected private repository.

The built-in repository diagnostic confirms:

"Claude Code cloud sessions can work in [owner/repository]."

I want to use the same authorized repository inside Claude Projects without changing its visibility or duplicating the codebase.

What happened instead?

Although the GitHub authorization and Claude GitHub App installation are successful, Claude Projects cannot access the selected private repository.

The repository appears in the selection field, but Claude displays:

"Claude cannot access that resource. If you know that it exists, you may first need to grant or request access here."

Troubleshooting already performed:

1. Confirmed the repository exists and is private.
2. Confirmed the correct GitHub account is connected.
3. Confirmed Claude GitHub App is installed.
4. Confirmed the repository is explicitly selected in GitHub App permissions.
5. Confirmed Claude Code cloud repository access passes its diagnostic check.
6. Restarted Claude and retried the integration.
7. Reopened the Project GitHub synchronization interface.

The problem persists.

Expected behavior:
Claude Projects should be able to browse and synchronize files from this authorized private repository.

Please investigate the difference between Claude Code cloud repository access and Claude Projects GitHub synchronization.

Please advise whether the repository authorization or indexing needs to be refreshed.

The issue appears specific to Claude Projects rather than the GitHub App authorization.

I would appreciate a fix or supported workaround that preserves the repository's private status.
