Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

Filing an issue here cannot be done with a single paste of a ready-made report.

  • Blank issues are disabled (blank_issues_enabled: false), so every issue must go through an issue form.
  • The forms split the report across several textareas, so a complete report written elsewhere (by hand, or drafted with Claude) has to be cut into pieces.
  • Required checkboxes and dropdowns cannot be prefilled by URL, so even a fully prefilled link still needs several manual clicks.
  • The Bug Report form assumes a terminal CLI bug: Terminal/Shell and Platform are required. Bugs that span Claude Code and claude.ai (e.g. plugin marketplaces that validate with claude plugin validate but fail to sync on claude.ai) don't fit, and reporters must pick meaningless values.

This adds friction exactly for well-documented reports, which are the most useful ones.

Proposed Solution

Add a "Free-form report" issue template with a single required textarea for the whole body (title + body, Markdown). Keep the preflight as a line of text in the template rather than required checkboxes, or make them optional.

With that, a report can be submitted in one paste, or fully prefilled with ?template=free_form.md&title=...&body=....

Alternative Solutions

  • Re-enable blank issues.
  • Make Terminal/Shell, Platform and Operating System optional, or add "Not applicable (claude.ai / web)" options, so non-terminal bugs fit the Bug Report form.
  • Add a dedicated template for plugins/marketplaces and claude.ai integration issues.

Medium - Would be very helpful

Use Case Example

  1. I hit a mismatch: my marketplace passed claude plugin validate but failed to sync on claude.ai (#101807).
  2. I diagnosed it with Claude, which drafted a complete bug report.
  3. Submitting it required splitting the text into 6 fields, ticking 3 checkboxes and choosing 4 dropdown values, some of them not applicable (Terminal/Shell for a claude.ai sync error).
  4. With a free-form template, I would paste the report once and submit.
