[Bug] Regression in 2.1.296: multi-line paste submits at every newline on Windows

Bug Description
Regression in 2.1.296: pasting multi-line text submits at every newline (Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200, Windows Terminal; same in PowerShell and cmd). In the same terminal the previous binary 2.1.289 pastes correctly and shows "[Pasted text #1 +19 lines]". Auto-updated from 2.1.289 to 2.1.296 on 2026-10-12. Possibly the same as GitHub issue #73157 (closed as not planned).
