[BUG] Deleted artifact still shown in the Remote Control conversation on iOS; no delete path from mobile

What happened

In a Claude Code session driven from the Claude iOS app through Remote Control, Claude published an artifact with the Artifact tool. Later the artifact was deleted on the web (claude.ai, from the artifact's menu). The artifact is gone from the artifact list, but the Remote Control conversation in the iOS app still shows the artifact card/indicator for it. Closing the artifact viewer (the X in the modal) only closes the modal; the indicator in the chat stays.

Expected

After an artifact is deleted, its card in the conversation should disappear or show a clear "deleted" state, consistently on web and mobile.

Related: no way to delete from the mobile surface or the session

  • The artifact viewer in the iOS app only offers close, comment and share; there is no delete action.
  • Asking Claude in the same Remote Control session to delete it fails: the Artifact tool's delete needs a confirmation that cannot be answered in that session, and it asks not to retry. So a user who only has their phone cannot remove an artifact Claude made in that conversation. (Related request for headless delete: #95855.)

Environment

  • Claude Code 2.1.294 on macOS (Darwin 25.6.0), session started with claude remote-control --spawn session and used from the Claude iOS app (app version not recorded)
  • Artifact deleted from claude.ai on the web on 2026-10-09
