Problem Statement

I use artifacts for documents I share with my team (pre-reads, strategy docs). The design quality of native artifacts is much better than what Claude produces when it builds decks in Google Slides or PowerPoint through connectors. Those decks come out noticeably uglier and need heavy manual cleanup. But when I need to present, there's no artifact type for slides. My options are to rebuild the content in Slides or PowerPoint and lose the design quality, or hand-build an HTML deck, which can't open a separate presenter window and has no real speaker notes.

Proposed Solution

Request
A first-class Slides artifact type with:

Slide-by-slide navigation (keyboard and click)
A presentation/fullscreen mode
Speaker notes per slide, visible only to the presenter (ideally a separate presenter view with notes, timer and next slide)
Export to PPTX/PDF

Team collaboration
Decks are team artifacts, so they need the collaboration people expect from Google Slides:

Comments anchored to a slide or element, with threaded replies
Edit access for multiple people, not just the owner
Visibility into who changed what (version history with attribution)
Claude able to act on comments from any collaborator, as it does with artifact comments today

Why
One artifact could cover the written pre-read, the live presentation, and the team's review, at native artifact design quality.

Alternative Solutions

I've tried having Claude build decks directly in Google Slides through a connector, but the results are visually far below Claude's native artifacts: inconsistent layout, weak typography and default styling. Each deck needs heavy manual cleanup.

I've also tried a hand-built HTML artifact deck with arrow-key navigation and a notes toggle. It works for simple cases, but the artifact viewer can't open a separate presenter window, so speaker notes end up on the shared screen. It also can't export to PPTX/PDF, which colleagues often expect.

I even built my own Google Workspace MCP server so Claude could make targeted edits to specific parts of a doc or deck without wiping out comments my team had left. Full-document rewrites delete or orphan anchored comments, so every edit has to be a careful, surgical patch. It was painful to build and still fragile. Artifacts already solve this natively: Claude edits in place, comments stay anchored, and it acts on them directly.

Currently I work around this by keeping the written pre-read as an artifact and rebuilding a separate deck in Google Slides by hand. The two copies drift apart, and review comments get split across both.

Other tools solve this by making presentation a mode of the same document. Google Slides, Pitch, Gamma and Figma Slides all offer presenter view with notes, threaded comments and multi-user editing. Gamma and Pitch also generate decks from a prompt, but without Claude's design quality or its ability to act on reviewer comments.

Use Case Example

Example scenario:

  1. I'm a product manager preparing a topic for my org's weekly product forum. With Claude Code, I drafted the written pre-read as an artifact. It looks great, and my team reviewed it through artifact comments, which Claude acted on directly (about 25 edits in one afternoon).
  2. Leadership now wants a short deck version to present, with speaker notes, and my design and engineering partners need to comment on and edit specific slides.
  3. Today I have to rebuild the content in Google Slides. When Claude builds decks there, they look far worse than its native artifacts and need heavy manual cleanup. I also lose the comment history and the "Claude acts on comments" loop.
  4. With a Slides artifact type, I could ask Claude to turn the pre-read into a deck in the same artifact family, present it in fullscreen with presenter notes, and let teammates comment, reply and edit slides with Claude applying their feedback.
  5. This would save me hours per deck. It would also keep one source of truth for the written doc, the presentation and the team's review, instead of three disconnected copies.
