Desktop (Windows): one-time routine and its session vanish from the sidebar and Routines page after the run
Environment: Claude desktop app for Windows (package version 2.19675.0.0), Windows 11 Home, Code tab. Local one-time routine (scheduled task).
What happened
A one-time local routine fired on schedule and started a session. I opened that session from the notification and kept chatting in it. After the run:
- The routine disappeared from the sidebar "Routines" section.
- The routine also disappeared from the Routines page ("Yours" tab). Only my other, still-pending routine is listed.
- The session the routine started does not appear in the sidebar chat list under "Today", even though I am actively using it and it is not archived.
The only way I found to reach the session is the notification that fired at run time. Once that is dismissed, the conversation cannot be reached from the UI.
The data is still there: listing scheduled tasks from inside the session shows the task as present with enabled: false and a lastRunAt, and its run list shows one run pointing at this session with archived: false.
Expected
The session started by a routine shows in the regular chat list like any other session, and/or a finished one-time routine stays visible on the Routines page with its run history.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a one-time local routine set a few minutes ahead.
- Let it fire and open the session from the notification.
- Look at the sidebar Routines section, the Routines page, and the sidebar chat list.

Update, about 35 minutes after the run and with no restart: the routine has reappeared in the sidebar "Routines" section, listed above my other pending routine, and clicking it reaches the session again. So the entry is not lost for good; it goes missing for a while after a one-time run (it was absent from the sidebar section, the Routines page, and the chat list during that time) and then comes back on its own. I did not note what triggered the reappearance. I have not re-checked the Routines page or the "Today" chat list since.
Second update: it has disappeared from the sidebar again while I keep using the session. Possible pattern, not confirmed: when it reappeared earlier, its sidebar entry had the filled (unread) dot, right after the session produced a reply while I was looking elsewhere. So the entry may only be listed while the run has unread output, and drop out once it is read, leaving no way back to an idle but still-open session.
Correction to my first report: the notification is not a lasting way in either. The Windows notification is gone once clicked, so after that the only way I can get back to the session is the app's Back arrow (previous view). If I navigate elsewhere and lose that history, the session is unreachable from the UI.
