Feature request

Allow the usage "Reset for free" ticket (reset voucher) to be redeemed from inside the Claude Code CLI, e.g. via a slash command or an option in /usage.

Current behavior

As far as I can tell, there is no way to use the reset ticket from the CLI. The only path is:

  1. Open Claude on the web or Desktop
  2. Settings → Usage
  3. Under Resets, click Reset for free
  4. Confirm by clicking Reset for free once more

The reset then applies to Claude Code CLI usage as well, since the web app and the CLI share the same account usage.

In the CLI:

  • /usage only shows usage; it has no reset action.
  • /usage-credits is for extra paid credits, not for reset tickets.

Why this matters

  • When I hit a limit in the middle of a CLI session, I have to leave the terminal, open a browser or the Desktop app, navigate to Settings → Usage, and confirm twice. This breaks the flow, especially for CLI-only or SSH/remote users who may not have a browser handy.
  • The usage is already shared between web and CLI, so the backend support seems to exist. Only a CLI entry point is missing.
  • It is not obvious to users that the CLI cannot do this. I only found the web-only flow after searching.

Proposed solution

Any of these would work:

  • A /reset (or /usage reset) command that redeems a reset ticket, with a confirmation prompt and the number of remaining tickets shown first.
  • A "Reset for free" action in the /usage view, shown only when the account has an available ticket.
  • At minimum, when the limit is reached, show the number of available reset tickets and a pointer (or deep link) to where they can be redeemed.

Because a reset ticket is limited and cannot be undone, the CLI flow should keep the same double-confirmation as the web UI.

Environment

  • Claude Code CLI on Windows 11
  • Logged in with a Claude account that has reset tickets
