Problem
In the Claude desktop app (Code tab), Claude often gives me a command to run in the Terminal panel, for example a command on a remote server that Claude should not or cannot run itself. After I run it, Claude does not notice. I have to send a message like "ran it" or paste the output back into the chat before Claude continues.
Claude can already read the Terminal panel with a tool call, and it can wait for new output. But nothing wakes Claude up when a command I type in the Terminal panel finishes.
Request
Let Claude optionally react automatically when a command finishes in the Terminal panel, so I don't have to tell it I ran something. For example:
- When Claude suggests a command and I run it in the Terminal panel, Claude gets a notification when the command exits (exit status plus output), reads it, and answers.
- Make this opt-in per session or per terminal tab, because the panel can show sensitive output.
Environment
- Claude desktop app, Code tab, Windows 11
- Terminal panel with a tab connected over SSH to a remote server
