Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In the Claude desktop app on Windows (Code tab), Ctrl+V does not paste anything in the built-in terminal panel. This happens both in a local PowerShell tab and inside an interactive ssh session. Ctrl+Shift+V does paste.

Reproduced on two machines with the same app build:

  • Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26300, Claude desktop (MSIX) 2.19675.0.0, Claude Code 2.1.286
  • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 10.0.19044, Claude desktop (MSIX) 2.19675.0.0

What Should Happen?

Ctrl+V pastes the clipboard text into the terminal, as in Windows Terminal and the VS Code integrated terminal on Windows.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Copy any text to the clipboard.
  2. Open the terminal panel in the Claude desktop app (local PowerShell 7.6.6).
  3. Press Ctrl+V: nothing is pasted.
  4. Run ssh <host> and press Ctrl+V again: nothing is pasted.
  5. Press Ctrl+Shift+V: the text is pasted in both cases.
