[BUG] SSH remote connection fails during Claude Code setup step (ECONNRESET) when connecting to Odoo.sh container

What's Wrong?

SSH Remote Access in Claude Code Desktop fails during the remote setup step when connecting to an Odoo.sh dev container. SSH authentication succeeds, but the subsequent step where Claude Code configures itself on the remote machine fails with ECONNRESET, 100% reproducible across multiple attempts (not transient).

What Should Happen?

After a successful SSH authentication, Claude Code should complete its remote setup and the SSH connection should become usable, as it does for standard SSH targets.

Couldn't run a command on the remote [ECONNRESET]

Steps to Reproduce

1. In Claude Code Desktop: Local → SSH → "Ajouter une connexion SSH", pointing to an Odoo.sh dev branch (<user>@<branch>.dev.odoo.com) with a valid passphrase-less private key registered on the remote (server only supports publickey auth, confirmed via ssh -v).
2. Click "Tester la connexion" / connect.
3. SSH authentication succeeds.
4. Claude Code attempts to set up its remote agent on the host → fails with the error above.

Additional Information

• Claude Code (desktop app) — Version 2.9939.4 (a166d8)
• Local OS: Windows 11 Pro
• Remote host: Odoo.sh dev container (Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS, Node v18.19.1, npm 9.2.0)
• Diagnostics performed on the remote host via manual SSH (all normal): outbound HTTPS works (tested registry.npmjs.org and github.com, HTTP 200), 76 GB RAM free, ~2 GB disk available on /home, ~/ writable, node/npm present and on PATH, manual SSH commands execute fine with no connection drops.
• This suggests the remote setup step's SSH exec/command channel is being reset specifically by Claude Code's bootstrap process, not by a general network or resource issue on the target host — possibly related to how Odoo.sh's SSH gateway/proxy handles the channel(s) used during setup, or to something specific in how the desktop app manages the SSH connection.
• Related: anthropics/claude-code#89767 (SSH Remote Access / ~/.ssh/config support) — different symptom, same general area (SSH Remote Access reliability).
