[BUG] [VSCode] Pasting text with CR-only line endings freezes the chat input

What's Wrong?

Summary

Pasting text whose line endings are CR only (\r, no \n) into the Claude Code
chat input in the VSCode extension freezes VSCode.
The same text pastes without problems once CR is converted to LF.

Workaround

Convert the line endings before pasting:
xclip -o -selection clipboard | tr '\r' '\n' | xclip -selection clipboard

Environment

• OS: Debian 12 (Linux 6.12)
• VSCode: 1.139.0
• Claude Code extension: 2.1.283

What Should Happen?

The text is pasted with line breaks, as it is in other editors (e.g. Emacs).

Steps to Reproduce

1. Put text with CR-only line endings on the clipboard, e.g.:

printf 'line1\r\r\tline2\r\tline3\r' | xclip -selection clipboard
(In practice this comes from copying code out of Pharo Smalltalk, which uses CR internally.)

1. Paste it into the Claude Code chat input in VSCode.
