Input freezes or duplicates when pasting text on Windows

When pasting text into the Claude Code input field, the following issues occur:

Symptoms

1. Application always freezes/hangs when pasting (100% reproducible)
2. When repeatedly pasting + typing characters, the input sometimes gets duplicated

Environment

• OS: Windows 11
• Claude Code version: 2.0.55
• Terminals tested:
• Windows Terminal (latest)
• Tabby (latest)
• Both terminals exhibit the same behavior

Steps to reproduce

1. Copy text to clipboard
2. Paste into Claude Code input field
3. Application freezes, OR
4. Repeat paste + type characters multiple times
5. Input appears duplicated

Expected behavior

Paste should work smoothly without freezing or duplication
