Local sessions never reconnect ("Impossible d'acceder a votre ordinateur") even when the desktop app is running on the same machine
Description
When reopening older local sessions in the Claude Code desktop app (Windows), the app shows: "Impossible d'acceder a votre ordinateur. Il est peut-etre en veille ou hors ligne. Cette session se reconnectera des qu'il sera de nouveau disponible." It then becomes impossible to continue the conversation - only starting a brand new session works.
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Claude Code desktop app on Windows and let a local session run (started manually, or via a scheduled/recurring task).
- Close the app, or let time pass.
- Reopen the app later on the SAME machine, with the app fully running and the machine awake/unlocked.
- Open one of the older sessions from the sidebar.
Expected behavior
The session reconnects and I can continue the conversation, since the app is running on the exact same computer that created the session.
Actual behavior
The reconnection banner appears and never resolves, even though:
- The app is open and active
- The computer is awake and unlocked
- Fully quitting the app (including from the system tray) and relaunching does not fix it
- This has happened repeatedly, across many different sessions
Environment
- OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.26200
- Claude Desktop app
Additional notes
Affected sessions include both ones I started manually and ones created by a recurring scheduled task, so the issue doesn't seem tied to one specific session type.
