What's Wrong?

Session persistence lost after account renewal

Title: [BUG] All Claude Code sessions and projects gone after subscription lapsed and was renewed (Windows desktop app)

What's wrong?

My subscription lapsed after a failed payment. I renewed right away, but after signing back in, the Claude Code Windows app shows none of my previous projects or sessions. This includes both local Claude Code sessions and cloud sessions I had running. I had many active projects open before the lapse.

This looks similar to #95099 (sessions lost after account renewal on Windows) and possibly #90888 (session history missing on Windows).

What should happen?

A lapsed-then-renewed subscription should restore access to all existing sessions and projects. A billing interruption should never remove or hide session data.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have an active subscription with multiple Claude Code sessions (local and cloud) in the Windows desktop app
  2. Payment fails and the subscription expires
  3. Renew the subscription with a valid payment
  4. Sign back in to the Claude Code Windows app
  5. Session and project list is empty

Request

Please check server-side whether my cloud session data still exists and re-link it to my account, and confirm whether the renewal flow caused it to be hidden or deleted.

What Should Happen?

What should happen?

Renewing a lapsed subscription should restore my account exactly as it was before the payment failed. Specifically:

  • All local Claude Code sessions should still appear in the app's session list and be resumable with claude --resume
  • All cloud sessions, including their conversation history, should still be listed and accessible from the same account
  • Project associations (which session belongs to which folder or repo) should be kept intact
  • A failed payment or expired subscription should only block new usage until renewal. It should never delete, hide or unlink existing session data
  • If data does have to be removed after a lapse, the app should warn me clearly beforehand, with enough time to renew or export my sessions

Additional Information

This is wildly frustrating. I can't believe the app would just drop all the projects I have. Now I have to recreate all my projects and ask the ai to figure out where we're at! I lost all the context for all my freaking projects because my account didnt auto renew. I changed the card, now its good!
