[BUG] Claude Code recommended an AWS change without checking billing side effects — cost me a $100 AWS credit

What's Wrong?

What happened
While building my product with Claude Code, it recommended creating an AWS Organization so I could attach an "AI services opt-out" policy (to stop AWS using my users' face images to improve its AI). I followed the instructions exactly.

Claude Code did not check or warn me that, under AWS Free Tier terms, creating or joining AWS Organizations immediately and permanently revokes the account's Free Tier credits. My unused USD $100 signup credit expired the same day, and the account can no longer earn the additional $100 in activity credits.

Claude Code confirmed afterwards that it had not researched the billing side effects before giving the advice. It acknowledged the mistake and cannot compensate me itself.

What I expected
Before recommending changes to a user's cloud account (AWS, etc.), Claude Code should check the provider's terms for credit, billing and plan side effects and warn the user up front.

1. Please consider improving how Claude Code handles advice that changes cloud billing or account state.
2. I'm a solo founder on a very small budget. If any goodwill gesture (such as extra usage or credit) is possible for this loss, I would appreciate it.
