Claude's GitHub integration (the "git proxy" credential injection used by Cowork/Claude Code cloud sessions) is refusing to push to a repository that was created during the session, even though the GitHub-side connection and app permissions are correctly configured.

Error received on git push:

remote: access denied by the git proxy: UnkeferSales/unkefer-sales-website is not in this session's authorized repository set, so the proxy will not inject a credential for it. To fix, add the repository to the session's sources.
fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/UnkeferSales/unkefer-sales-website.git/': The requested URL returned error: 403

Steps taken, none of which resolved it:

  1. Confirmed the Claude GitHub App's repository access is set to "All repositories" (not limited to a select list).
  2. Started a brand-new chat/session in the same project, hoping a fresh session would pick up current permissions — same error.
  3. Tried pushing from two different execution contexts within the session (Claude's cloud workspace, and via the desktop device bridge to the user's own machine) — same error (the device-bridge route fails for a separate, expected reason: it has no access to the credential proxy at all).
  4. Fully disconnected and reconnected the GitHub integration (both "Connect your GitHub account" and "Install the Claude GitHub App" steps) from scratch — identical error afterward, word for word.

Working theory: the "session's authorized repository set" appears to be computed once, when a session/task first starts, and never refreshes afterward — so a repository created mid-session (as in this case) can never be added to it, regardless of what changes on the GitHub side.

Repository: UnkeferSales/unkefer-sales-website (private)
Workaround in use: manual push via a GitHub personal access token pasted into Terminal — works reliably, but defeats the purpose of the automatic integration.
