[BUG] VS Code extension: Context menu appears automatically when selecting text in chat input or find boxes

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Click into the Claude Code chat input and type some text
  2. Tap the field using touchscreen
  3. Press Ctrl+A to select all
  4. The context menu appears automatically and unprompted.

Expected: Text gets selected; the menu only appears on an actual right-click (or long-press on touch).

Actual: The full context menu (Cut/Copy/Paste + 3 Claude Code options) pops up immediately as soon as a selection exists — identical to what appears on an intentional right-click.

Where it happens:

  • The Claude Code chat input field
  • The Find/search box in the chat panel
  • The Find/search box in the Monaco code editor

Where it does NOT happen: other VS Code UI, or any other Windows application.

Notes:

  • Reproducible with keyboard only (Ctrl+A after using touch screen to interact with field), which rules out this being standard Chromium touch long-press behavior — it looks like the extension's webview is auto-dispatching/showing its context menu on any selection-change event, rather than only in response to an actual right-click/long-press pointer event.
  • Also reproducible via touchscreen: tapping the field pops the menu whenever a selection is present or being created, even with a very light/quick tap.

Environment:

  • VS Code extension (Claude Code)
  • Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26220
  • Touchscreen laptop
