Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I have a free Claude plan. Every time I hit my usage limit, access is not restored at the displayed reset time. The delay ranges wildly from 1 hour to several hours past the displayed time. The displayed time doesn't shift. It doesn't let me send any messages after the displayed time. For example, as of 9:10 PM in UK timezone today, my displayed reset time was 8:10 PM, by 9:10 PM — 1 hour before — I still could not send any messages whatsoever. This is 100% consistent and not intermittent. This happens across several browsers. This is not due to a gradual refill because I cannot send any messages at all. I don't know if this happens on paid plans or with claude code, I assume it does.

What Should Happen?

My plan should reset when it says it should, in this example at 8:10 PM.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ask Claude to do something until you hit the usage limits on a free plan.
  2. Wait until the usage limit should reset.
  3. Send Claude a message.
  4. It tells you to wait until whatever time (which is before the current time) when it was meant to reset.

Claude Model
