Platform: Claude Desktop (macOS), Code tab
App version: 2.2553.1 (auto-updated from 2.110.0 on 2026-09-18)
Claude Code CLI: 2.1.278
macOS: Darwin 25.6.0 (Apple Silicon)

What happens

Since the 2.2553.1 update, two click targets in the Code tab chat view do nothing:

  1. Run button on bash code blocks. Clicking Run does not type the command into the Terminal pane. No approval prompt, no error, nothing in ~/Library/Logs/Claude/main.log.
  2. Markdown links in assistant messages. Clicking [label](https://...) does not open the browser. No log entry.

Both worked on 2.110.0.

What still works (so it is not the machine)

  • run_in_terminal from a session types into the Terminal pane and executes normally.
  • open "https://example.com" run from that pane exits 0 and opens the default browser (Chrome).
  • Login shell startup is 0.03s, no custom keybindings.json, no relevant errors in main.log or claude.ai-web.log.

Related

Mid-message slash commands (/skill after other text) are not expanded, only at message start. Also, typing /watch then a space mid-message sends the token glued to the next word (/watchi got...), so the composer's slash popup appears to swallow the space.

Expected

Run button types the command into the Terminal pane; links open in the default browser; slash popup should not eat the following space.
