What's Wrong or Missing?

Claude 2.0.{something} started eagerly auto-compressing context, leading many users to quickly exhaust Opus credits (#9424, #8604, #8644).

To work around I am trying to pin Claude to a version before this regression. The changelog is missing information indicating when this regression occurred.

Suggested Improvement

Please don't dismiss us users with "don't use opus". I'm using Opus to code review manually derived gradients in C++. Opus 4.1 is ok at this mathematically intensive task, whereas Sonnet 4.5 is very bad at this task. I don't need context compression, I just need 0.3-0.5 of a context of Opus to review code. 🙏

Impact

Medium - Makes feature difficult to understand
