Description
Running /ultrareview pr <PR#> (alias for /code-review ultra) from the Claude Desktop app's Code tab fails with:
/ultrareview is only available in a local Claude Code session.
This happens despite the session having full local filesystem, git, and terminal access to a real local repo checkout (not a sandboxed/remote environment) — the session was pointed at a real local git repository the whole time.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a project in the Claude Desktop app's Code tab, pointed at a local git repo with a GitHub remote.
- Have an available ultra-review credit (message indicated 2 of 3 free ultra reviews had been used).
- Run
/ultrareview pr 151(or/code-review ultra 151).
Expected
Either the review launches, or the error clarifies why a session with local disk/git access doesn't qualify as "local."
Actual
Blocked with "only available in a local Claude Code session," with no further guidance. Workaround: run claude directly in a terminal instead of via the desktop app's Code tab.
Environment
- Claude Desktop app, Code tab
- macOS (Darwin 25.5.0)
- Local repo with GitHub remote (jamiemitchellconsultants/JointBooking), PR #151
