In the Claude Code desktop app (Code tab), /cost used to show how much the current session had used. That command is gone, and its replacement /usage now just opens the Settings → Usage page instead of printing an inline report.

The problem: Settings → Usage shows account/org-wide aggregate numbers, not a per-session breakdown. There's currently no way from the desktop app to see "what did this specific conversation cost."

Running claude in an actual terminal still gives an inline /usage report scoped to that session — so the capability exists, it's just missing from the desktop app's Code tab.

I'd like per-session usage visibility restored in the desktop app, not just an aggregate total. Specifically:

  • Total cost
  • API and wall-clock duration
  • Token breakdown by model
  • Cache hit rate
  • Plan-usage attribution

Either inline in the Code tab (like the terminal's /usage) or as a session-scoped view.
