Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Running a claude code subcommand that outputs to stdout (claude auth status, claude plugins list) shows ^[]11;rgb:1c1c/1c1c/1f1f^G^[[?61;1;21;22;28c[...$PS1...]11;rgb:1c1c/1c1c/1f1f61;1;21;22;28c or only [...$PS1...]11;rgb:1c1c/1c1c/1f1f61;1;21;22;28c (where [...$PS1...] is the expected output to re-appear after a command, the PS1/shell-prompt.

What Should Happen?

There should not be 11;rgb:1c1c/1c1c/1f1f61;1;21;22;28c.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

FWIW problem occurred after globally installing claude-code with dnf (from baseurl=https://downloads.claude.ai/claude-code/rpm/latest (also tried /stable), https://code.claude.com/docs/en/setup#install-with-linux-package-managers ).
Likely (remnant of) color coding output.
Redirecting the output to oblivion >/dev/null makes all output go away, so it are not characters to /dev/stderr but to /dev/stdout. Piping the command makes the characters "go away", for example: claude plugins list | cat -.
