Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Describe the bug
When I copy a shell command from a code block in a Claude Code chat response and then open (or switch to) the Terminal panel, the copied command is automatically pasted into the terminal prompt on Windows — ready to run, without me manually pasting it. On macOS, this does not happen; I have to paste manually every time.

Steps to reproduce

  1. In a Claude Code chat, get a response containing a shell command in a code block.
  2. Copy the command text.
  3. Open (or switch focus to) the integrated Terminal panel.

Expected behavior
Consistent behavior across platforms — either both auto-paste, or neither does.

Actual behavior

  • Windows (Dell laptop): copied command auto-appears in the terminal prompt when the panel is opened.
  • macOS (MacBook): copied command does not appear; manual paste (Cmd+V) is required.

Environment

  • Windows: Windows 11 Pro, Claude Code desktop app
  • macOS: MacBook, Claude Code desktop app
  • (please fill in exact app version from both machines — Settings/About)

Request
Please clarify whether this auto-paste is an intentional Claude Code feature (and if so, enable it on macOS too), or an unrelated Windows-side behavior (e.g. Windows Terminal / clipboard integration) that happens to look like a Claude Code feature.

What Should Happen?

Run it on Mac OS
