In-app Claude Browser crashes session when navigating to perplexity.ai

Description

Using the in-app "Claude Browser" tool (mcp__Claude_Browser__navigate / computer)
to open perplexity.ai crashes the Claude Code session/process. This happened twice
in the same session on 2026-08-16:

1. Direct navigation to a perplexity.ai search URL via the browser tool crashed

the session, forcing a hard reboot of the machine after ~3 days 20 hours of
uptime.

1. After being warned off direct navigation, the assistant instead surfaced the

Perplexity URL as a clickable markdown link in chat. The user clicked it,
which launched the same in-app browser plugin against perplexity.ai and
crashed the session again.

Environment

• OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.26200
• Interface: Claude Code (desktop app), in-app Browser pane (Claude_Browser MCP)

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the in-app Browser pane.
2. Navigate to a perplexity.ai URL (e.g. a search results page).
3. Session crashes / process becomes unresponsive.

Expected behavior

Navigating to any external site (including perplexity.ai) should fail gracefully
or time out, not crash the entire session/process.

Impact

Loss of session state, forced hard reboot on first occurrence.
