Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Opening or using the built-in Browser pane (the preview/browser panel
that appears on the right side of the Claude Code window, separate
from Chrome) reliably crashes my session.
What happened:
- Was mid-task with Claude driving the in-app Browser pane.
- Chrome crashed first.
- Shortly after, the Claude Code session itself crashed and lost
connection to my computer ("Can't reach your computer, it may be
asleep or offline").
- Had to reinstall Claude Code to recover; the crashed session never
reconnected.
Environment:
- OS: Windows 11 Home
- App: Claude Code desktop app
This is reproducible enough that I've had to stop using the in-app
Browser pane entirely and rely on the Claude in Chrome extension
instead as a workaround.
What Should Happen?
It should be fixed so it doesnt need a new install everytime its fixed
