Description

Roughly 1 in 5 Claude Code CLI sessions are wiped/cleared shortly after starting — the session just vanishes with no error, no warning, nothing recoverable. This has been happening repeatedly over time, not a one-off.

Impact

This is a severe workflow-breaking bug. It's happened often enough to be a recurring, reproducible pattern (~20% of session starts), not a fluke.

History

Raised previously in conversation/support; was told it might be "another session" interfering. That explanation doesn't hold — this happens consistently and isn't tied to running multiple sessions deliberately.

Platform: Windows 11 Pro
Shell: PowerShell / Git Bash

Request

Please investigate root cause of session loss on startup. Happy to provide more repro detail/logs if there's a way to capture them when it happens (currently no error is shown, session just clears).
