Claude Desktop crashes randomly during use on Windows 11 25H2 (v1.40609.0)

What's Wrong?

App version: 1.40609.0 (f65e38), built 2026-08-27
Windows version: Windows 11, version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9278)

What's wrong:
Claude Desktop crashes intermittently during normal use — not tied to a specific action I've been able to identify, just happens randomly while the app is open.

Steps already tried (none resolved it):

Forced a clean update via the installer from claude.ai/download
Repaired the app via Windows Settings → Apps → Claude → Advanced options → Repair
Checked for and killed leftover claude.exe processes in Task Manager before relaunching

What Should Happen?

claude desktop app should be running without crashing repeatedly - troubleshooting and app repair options should also be working normally
