[BUG] Claude Code nukes all previous terminal content after 2.0 upgrade

Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
When running claude in a terminal session, it clears out the complete terminal contents so it appears at the top of the screen, and even after exiting claude again it's not possible anymore to scroll up to see it. (using gnome-terminal on ubuntu)
I'm pretty sure this was not the case before the 2.0 upgrade, and it makes it kinda dangerous to just start claude for a random question since you might lose shell history that you maybe wanted to take another look at.
What Should Happen?
It should still be possible to view the prior shell history by scrolling up.
