Cannot log in to Claude Code: verification emails suppressed for my address, support bot has no escalation path
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Problem
I cannot log in to Claude Code (or claude.ai on any new device) because login
verification emails are never delivered to my account email address
(redacted) — spaces added to reduce spam scraping; happy to
confirm the exact address through any private channel).
I am a paying Max plan subscriber. My account is active — I am still signed
in via the Claude desktop app (session active since March 2026, Brisbane,
Australia). If that session ever ends, I will be permanently locked out of
a paid account.
Troubleshooting already done
- Checked Bigpond/Telstra webmail directly (server-side), inbox AND spam:
nothing arrives, ever. Multiple code requests over several days.
- Contacted Telstra: they confirmed nothing from anthropic.com /
mail.anthropic.com is being blocked or filtered for my address.
- Verified that Claude emails DO deliver successfully to a different
bigpond.com address I own (on a separate Claude account) — so this is not
a provider-wide block. It is specific to my address.
- This same problem occurred once before on this account.
All evidence points to my address being on Anthropic's email suppression
list (e.g. from a past transient bounce).
Support dead end
The Fin support bot (support.claude.com and in-app "Get help") states it
cannot check or modify suppression lists, cannot create tickets, cannot
route to a human, and has no escalation path. It variously suggested
changing my account email (feature does not exist — confirmed by help
article 8452276 and my own Settings page) and deleting my paid Max account.
Request
Please have someone check the email suppression list for my address and
clear it, so verification codes can be delivered again. I can verify
account ownership via my active desktop app session (Organization ID
available on request).
Environment
- Claude Code on macOS (Mac mini)
- Account: Max plan, individual
- Location: Brisbane, Australia (Telstra/Bigpond email)

+1 on this for sure - Verification emails either take a long time (sometimes 15 minutes or longer), then I end up missing the link before the 10 minute window expires because I've moved on to something else. If Anthropic requires the one-click email workflow for login, the emails should be delivered timely and reliably.
+1 It's incredibly annoying. They changed something and sessions are being invalidated more often than used to and emails take forever to arrive.
Honestly guys please just add support for Email + Password + MFA.
Waiting for an email is unreliable and frustrating. It’s crazy that this is the primary auth method.
I have exactly the same problem. Doesn't matter where I try to login from, it doesn't work. Already checked with the email provider and there's no log of any email arriving... It randomly worked once after a few hours of subscribing, but after that it never worked again.
