[BUG] Claude Desktop window gets stuck anchored/focused when Computer Use starts, blocking all other window switching
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
When a Computer Use tool is activated, the Claude Desktop window resizes and becomes focus-locked/anchored. While active, I cannot switch to any other application — not with Alt+Tab, not with Win+Tab, and not even by clicking other apps' icons in the Windows taskbar. The only way to regain control of other windows is to manually minimize the Claude window itself.
What Should Happen?
Computer Use should be able to control the target application without permanently stealing OS-level window focus. I should still be able to Alt+Tab, use Win+Tab, or click the taskbar to switch to other apps while Computer Use is running in the background.
Error Messages/Logs
Steps to Reproduce
- Start any task in Claude Desktop that triggers a Computer Use tool (screen/mouse/keyboard control).
- While Computer Use is actively running, try to switch to another application (e.g., Chrome) using Alt+Tab, Win+Tab, or by clicking its icon in the Windows taskbar.
- None of these switch focus away from Claude — the window stays anchored/focused.
- The only workaround is manually minimizing the Claude window.
