[Bug][cyber] Safety block halted protocol reverse-engineering session mapping wire-format fields (nonce/token (req_011CcmZNzD6UsAbtHNQjEpc8)
Triage: kind cyber · domain general · flagging model Opus 4.8 · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below
Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general
Why this is a false positive
The session involved documenting the byte-layout of a captured wire protocol (nonce vs. static identity fields) from packet samples the user owns, standard reverse-engineering/interoperability work with no exploit code or third-party targeting. The block fired mid-analysis on a message referencing a device and its MAC address as a possible key-derivation input, a routine RE hypothesis, not an attack instruction, halting an otherwise legitimate and in-scope technical task.
A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred 1× across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-06T22:02:51.641Z.
