[Bug][cyber] Safety block halted protocol-analysis work on user-owned hardware the user already controls (req_011CcmDGoVv6Mk7HDfd9u2VQ)

Triage: kind cyber · domain general · flagging model Opus 4.8 · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The blocked message asked how to extract an authentication key from devices the user owns and already has full physical/root access to, for the purpose of removing an artificial altitude restriction on the user's own equipment — standard reverse-engineering of owned hardware, not an attack on third-party systems. All prior turns in the session were plain technical analysis (protocol captures, logcat output, cryptographic gating explanation) with no indication of targeting anyone else's device or network, so the block appears to have fired on topic keywords (auth handshake, key extraction) rather than on any actual out-of-scope signal.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-06T17:39:15.710Z.
