[Billing Bug] Unauthorized Pro→Max 20x upgrade, charged twice, refund denied — Slovakia/EEA
Update:
The disputed amount has now been refunded. Thank you for processing the refund.
However, my Claude account is now suspended/banned after this billing incident. I do not know whether the suspension is related to the unauthorized Max 20x upgrade, the refund, the chargeback request, or an automated risk/security process.
For context:
- I was on Claude Pro before June 29, 2026
- My account was upgraded to Max 20x twice without my explicit action or consent
- The first unauthorized charge was refunded
- The second unauthorized charge was initially denied by the automated support flow, so I contacted my bank
- The second amount has now also been refunded
- After this, my account appears to be suspended/banned
I reviewed my exported conversations from June 30 and July 1 and I do not see any content that would explain a community-guidelines suspension. The conversations were mainly about:
- billing support and refund/chargeback handling
- technical building-material questions
- text editing/translation
- a unit conversion
- historical research about Bergen-Belsen victim records
Could someone from Anthropic please manually review whether the account suspension was triggered by this billing/subscription incident rather than an actual policy violation?
I am not trying to abuse refunds or avoid payment. I only wanted to resolve an unexpected billing issue and return to the plan I originally selected.
