[Bug][cyber] USB drone ADB property queries for firmware ID blocked as cybersecurity violation (req_011CcUFxiBU3YjJ8m5A96zMM)

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

Let's detect the drone on USB now.

The conversation had reached a state where drone firmware analysis work (reading device identifiers, understanding firmware structure) was blocked by Claude Code's cybersecurity content classifier. The work involves analyzing hardware over USB for authorized research purposes, and the block occurred mid-task despite being clearly authorized, legitimate work with no malicious intent.

The safeguards trigger appears to be pattern-matching on firmware/hardware analysis terminology rather than assessing actual risk. This is authorized, single-device research work where the operator has physical possession of the hardware, and blocking it creates unnecessary friction without preventing any actual harm — the information being accessed is already on the researcher's own device.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-06-27T18:44:21.085Z.
