[FEATURE] Escalation request: end-user KYC pathway for Fable eligibility review

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 13, 2026 by RyanCatala Closed Jun 16, 2026

Problem Statement

Fable has a US national / eligibility compliance issue that appears to require a verified signal about the actual end users, not just assumptions about the application/provider as a whole. Without a clear verification pathway, legitimate users may be overblocked even where the underlying issue could be resolved by confirming the customer's identity and eligibility status.

Proposed Solution

Please route this to the Anthropic policy, Trust & Safety, compliance, or product support team that can evaluate an end-user KYC pathway.

Fable would require affected customers/users to submit government ID and complete identity verification through a secure KYC provider or Anthropic-approved process. Fable would then pass only the required verification result, compliance attestation, or scoped status signal to Anthropic. Anthropic could use that verified outcome to approve, deny, or further review the relevant account, workflow, use case, or access path.

Alternative Solutions

I am also submitting this through Anthropic support and usersafety@anthropic.com. The current alternative is manual support escalation, but that does not create a repeatable compliance-grade pathway for cases where the relevant fact is the end user's verified status.

Use Case Example

  1. A Fable customer/user is subject to a US national / eligibility requirement.
  2. Fable routes that user through secure KYC.
  3. The KYC provider verifies the user's identity and relevant eligibility/compliance status.
  4. Fable sends Anthropic only the scoped verification outcome or attestation, not raw identity documents.
  5. Anthropic uses the verified KYC signal to make a compliance decision for the relevant use case.

Additional Context

No customer IDs, identity documents, account secrets, or sensitive verification artifacts should be submitted through GitHub. This issue is only a request for the correct Anthropic team to evaluate whether verified end-user KYC can satisfy the applicable US national / eligibility requirement for Fable's use case.
