[BUG] claude code desktop app - "no repos match" error even when selecting default, and github is connected
Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 8, 2026 by bakrsadeeq Closed Jul 14, 2026
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
When starting a new session in Claude Code (web) with Default selected (no repo chosen), sending any message triggers a "No repos match" error. This error should only appear when trying to select a repo — it should not appear in Default mode where no repo is required. and even still, i have claude code connected in github and all repositories selected
What Should Happen?
Starting a session in Default mode should work without any GitHub repo connection. The "No repos match" error should not appear at all when no repo has been selected.
Error Messages/Logs

repo missing? install the claude github app in a private repository to access it here
