Problem Statement

Checking usage on Claude Pro requires navigating to Settings → Usage — two clicks that interrupt an active workflow. There's no at-a-glance way to know how much of the current session or weekly allocation has been used without leaving the current context.

Proposed Solution

Add a compact usage summary directly in the account dropdown menu in the sidebar (the same menu that surfaces Settings and Get Help). It should show:

Current session usage %
Weekly usage %

No navigation required. One click on the account icon surfaces the data inline.

Alternative Solutions

Currently none — the only path is Settings → Usage. A persistent usage indicator in the sidebar itself would also work, but the dropdown is less visually intrusive.

Priority

Critical - Blocking my work

Feature Category

Performance and speed

Use Case Example

  1. Mid-conversation, I want to know if I'm close to hitting my session limit before composing a long prompt.

I click the account icon in the sidebar.

  1. The dropdown shows: Session: 73% used · Week: 41% used.
  2. I adjust accordingly — no context switch, no navigation.

Additional Context

Similar to how Cursor shows token/request usage inline without requiring a settings visit. A screenshot or mockup can be provided on request.
