I issue a task/instruction, then sit there waiting while it does nothing for a few minutes, I hit [esc][esc] and re-prompt and it then immediately does the task instantly.

Experiencing the exact same thing today & yesterday on the Max plan. Along with constant "Error editing file".

This has been ongoing for weeks and weeks and I brought it up before I believe that they just closed the ticket for the issue. It's so frustrating it never gets fixed but yet they'll release some new gimmick that also won't work rather than addressing real car issues every time I turn my back Claude has stopped. I have to completely manage it. I've even tried to use hooks and it ends up deleting its own hooks so that it doesn't have to do the work. I've given it a task list has changed the task list removed everything out of it and left one and then reported back that it's finished the task so it's gonna do everything it can to not work whatever they've done in the last four weeks plus now with this version has completely ruined it
This bug was consistent for me for weeks: when I start Claude with an initial prompt, it says it's working on something, but I could wait for tens of minutes and nothing happens. I always have to press ESC and type in "continue", "proceed", or something like that. If I write something completely different, then it ignores the initial prompt.

Haven't had this issue for a while, definitely not in 2.0.58.
I've been seeing this issue for the last few months, and it seems to be getting worse. Tried deleting .claude / .claude.json.
In a WSL environment, claude code v2.0.69.
