Gmail (and other claude.ai) connectors not available in Claude Code CLI

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened May 27, 2026 by dpc00 Closed Jun 25, 2026

Bug Description

Connectors installed via claude.ai (e.g. Gmail, GitHub) are not accessible in Claude Code CLI sessions. The tools do not appear via ToolSearch and cannot be called.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open claude.ai in a browser
  2. Install the Gmail connector (Settings → Connectors)
  3. Open a Claude Code CLI session
  4. Ask Claude to read emails or search for Gmail tools

Expected Behavior

Connectors installed on the claude.ai account should be available across Claude products tied to that account, including Claude Code CLI.

Actual Behavior

No Gmail (or other connector) tools appear. ToolSearch returns no matches for "gmail", "email", "inbox", etc. Claude Code has no access to connectors installed via the web app.

Impact

Users who install connectors expecting cross-product availability are unable to use them in Claude Code. This is a significant usability gap — for example, reading GitHub notification emails during a coding session requires switching to the browser, breaking workflow.

Environment

  • Claude Code CLI (terminal/PowerShell)
  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Connector installed via claude.ai web app
