Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened May 18, 2026 by RazacleExperiences Closed Jun 16, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

<img width="1074" height="919" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7719892d-09c6-40c3-851b-5cfd0461d1cb" />

Anytime I switch to a different chat then return back to the chat I was originally in. Exa: "I click chat 1 went to chat 2 then back to chat 1 this happens."

What Should Happen?

It should show the Claude chat as I am switching between chats without having to manually refresh the desktop app or webpage.

Error Messages/Logs

No errors I found from this. But I have tried clearing cache and reinstalling and reset app data nothing seemed to worked, even tried dns changes and /flushdns aswell from terminal.

Steps to Reproduce

The thing that lead to this issue in the first place was the moment I had exited the suggestion from the desktop app version for me to download claude code in the chat once I did that the chats seemed to be bugged as shown above, before it was working great both on the browser and the desktop version.

Claude Model

Not sure / Multiple models

Is this a regression?

I don't know

Last Working Version

_No response_

Claude Code Version

Claude 1.7196.1

Platform

Anthropic API

Operating System

Windows

Terminal/Shell

Terminal.app (Windows)

Additional Information

This only affects the one desktop device the moment I removed that banner that wanted me to install claude code app, I merely had claude desktop standalone before this point ever. Weirdly enough my phone app and website works still fine as intended no issues switch between chats. But the desktop is still an issue.
