xcode 26 - intergration?

Hello,

For xcode 26 you can add providers including claude but you are required to put in api key.
This means in order to use claude with xcode you have to pay an addition cost because claude code plan doesnt include api keys etc.

I get why, you wouldnt want people to use their cc to0 then run their own ai apps instead of paying for api.
But this is different...
Xcode is essentially just another IDE, its unlikely that apply will have a way for cc to integrate via console like other ide's they have just provided a universal entry point for any model provider.

I feel like the claude code subscription should include the ability to add api keys when they will be used for coding purposes ie. to integrate with IDEs that require universal api method.

Maybe Max plan does but not everyone can afford more than the Pro plan.

Regardless it seems bad that in order to use claude to code in an IDE like xcode you have to pay an additional service when all you would be doing is not using claude code while in xcode just to do claude code like stuff and paying extra while not using claude code subcription during that time.

Yeah I know you could just have cc just write swift etc in vscode or in terminal but you would miss a lot of potential help from the xcode ide
