[Desktop App] Session grouping by project removed from Code tab sidebar

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In the Claude Code desktop app (macOS), the Code tab sidebar previously grouped sessions by project. After a recent update, all sessions are now shown as a flat list under "Recents" with no project grouping.

The Cowork tab still retains project-based grouping, but the Code tab does not.

What Should Happen?

Sessions in the Code tab sidebar should be grouped by project, as they were previously. This makes it easy to find sessions when working across multiple repos.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code desktop app on macOS
  2. Navigate to the Code tab
  3. Observe the sidebar — all sessions appear as a flat list under "Recents" with no project grouping

Note: The Cowork tab still has project-based grouping. This regression makes it difficult to find sessions when working across multiple repos.
